Context and challenges

Creating more inclusive workplaces in Morocco

Despite ongoing efforts to promote equal opportunities, people with disabilities in Morocco continue to face significant barriers to accessing and retaining employment. At the same time, many companies are looking for practical ways to build more inclusive workplaces and strengthen their human resources practices. Beyond fulfilling their corporate social responsibility commitments, fostering disability inclusion enables businesses to access a wider talent pool, strengthen workforce diversity, and build more innovative and resilient organisations.

To support Moroccan companies in embedding disability inclusion into their organisations, Invest for Jobs and Handicap International – Humanity & Inclusion have launched the programme “Inclusive Jobs, Unlimited Talent”.

Project approach and project goals

Embedding disability inclusion into human resources practices

The programme strengthens disability inclusion across 15 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Morocco. One of the participating companies is DIEZE Evolution, a company specialising in customer experience outsourcing, back-office services and digital transformation. DIEZE Evolution draws on the expertise of Humanity & Inclusion to develop practical tools and strengthen its internal capacities to foster an inclusive working environment.

Key activities include conducting an inclusion assessment, developing a company-wide disability inclusion policy, and defining a tailored action plan. Managers and employees at DIEZE Evolution take part in awareness-raising sessions and training to strengthen their understanding of disability inclusion and inclusive management practices. Humanity & Inclusion is also supporting DIEZE Evolution in making its recruitment and onboarding processes more inclusive, helping the company identify and remove barriers that might prevent people with disabilities from accessing employment opportunities.

Through the programme, Invest for Jobs supports the implementation of practical and sustainable measures that enable DIEZE Evolution to strengthen its organisational capacities while creating more inclusive employment opportunities. By embedding disability inclusion into its human resources strategy, the company aims to build a more diverse workforce and contribute to a more inclusive labour market in Morocco.

Status and outlook

Building sustainable pathways to inclusive employment

The project has already taken its first steps towards embedding disability inclusion into DIEZE Evolution's human resources practices. The recruitment of the first employees with disabilities marks an encouraging milestone in this journey. One of these new employees, Ahmed Fadil, shares his experience in a dedicated employee portrait, illustrating how inclusive recruitment can open new opportunities for individuals while helping companies build more diverse workforces.

As the project progresses, the partnership will continue to support DIEZE Evolution and other SMEs in strengthening their disability inclusion strategy, expanding inclusive recruitment practices and fostering the long-term integration of people with disabilities. Ultimately, the programme aims to serve as an example of how disability-inclusive employment can benefit both businesses and people with disabilities.

The “Inclusive Jobs, Unlimited Talent” programme is supported by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, in cooperation with the Moroccan Ministry of Industry and Trade, as part of Invest for Jobs – the Special Initiative "Decent Work for a Just Transition" of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
