As a person who lost one of his arms, Ahmed Fadil’s journey towards stable employment reflects the challenges faced by many people with disabilities when trying to enter the labour market. The 32-year-old from the city of Salé possessed strong motivation, yet accessing decent employment proved difficult due to structural barriers and persistent stereotypes.
“People with disabilities have far fewer opportunities when it comes to accessing employment,” he explains. “Many employers still hold quite negative views about people with disabilities, whether it's large companies or small businesses”. This reality shaped Ahmed’s early professional experience. He worked in several fields, including event organisation, which ground to a halt during the Covid-19 pandemic. He later worked as a reseller and pursued mobile phone repair training to gain technical skills, but finding long-term stability remained a challenge. Without access to stable opportunities, it was difficult to plan for the future. Yet, Ahmed refused to give in to discouragement.

New opportunities through inclusive recruitment
To reduce barriers to employment and encourage inclusive recruitment in Morocco, Invest for Jobs supports a project by Handicap International – Humanity & Inclusion (HI) and private sector companies. As part of this project, HI works closely with employers to raise awareness of disability inclusion and facilitate connections with jobseekers like Ahmed. His journey took a turn when the Humanity & Inclusion team got in touch with him and invited him to an open day at the Dieze Evolution, a company specialising in customer experience, back-office services and digital transformation. Alongside other candidates, he gained first-hand insight into the organisation, its activities and its working environment.
After a successful interview and a week's induction training, Dieze Evolution offered Ahmed a position as a customer service advisor. This access to employment has provided him with stability, income, and renewed confidence. Being part of an inclusive environment has allowed him to regain trust in his professional abilities.

Employment as a foundation for dignity and resilience
Today, Ahmed’s situation has improved significantly. Employment at the call centre has given him greater independence and a strong sense of belonging. Reflecting on his journey, he highlights the importance of perseverance and self-belief. “Because giving up is putting obstacles in your own way,” he says. “If you give up, how can you hope to find your place?”
Looking ahead, Ahmed hopes to continue improving his skills and to encourage other people with disabilities to keep striving for employment. His message is one of resilience: “Stand tall, keep your head held high and your heart strong. Keep fighting, whatever the obstacles”. For Ahmed, this partnership demonstrates that inclusive cooperation between organisations and companies can create real, sustainable opportunities.
