Tailor-made funding and advisory services

We help you to extend your business potential - with tailor-made, individual solutions. Together with you, we develop sector-independent and demand-oriented projects, so-called job partnerships, in order to overcome your investment barriers and create sustainable employment.

For this purpose, we unite the strengths not only of businesses but also of academia and public administration in order to jointly find sustainable solutions: with a comprehensive range of support services, we assist you from the initial idea through the development right up to the successful implementation of your project. Alternatively, we might grant subsidies for employment-promoting investments.

The objective of Invest for Jobs is to unite the strengths of the various players within the framework of the Special Initiative "Decent Work for a Just Transition" in order to jointly find sustainable solutions and successfully implement your investment project.

  • Advice on expert topics and general conditions
  • Technical studies
  • Contacts and matchmaking
  • Complementary financing, for example for inter-company training or to strengthen local suppliers

We also help with the design of training measures, the establishment of sustainable value and supply chains, efficient logistics processes and matters relating to customs clearance.

Fostering Training and Employment through develoPPP for jobs

Focus: Development partnerships between businesses and the public sector with the aim of promoting employment

develoPPP is a funding programme of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). It is aimed at companies that want to invest sustainably in a developing or emerging country and expand their local operations. Prerequisites for support are a long-term business interest in the country and a sustainable developmental benefit for the local people.

Within the framework of develoPPP for jobs, an instrument which was specially developed for the Special Initiative "Decent Work for a Just Transition", targeted support is provided for employment-generating projects in the African partner countries.

Interested German, European and local companies can submit their project ideas in regular competitions. The partnerships can be based in a wide variety of sectors and pursue different approaches. They range from the training of local professionals and income generation to the stabilisation of value chains and the improvement of social standards.

In the projects that are supported by Invest for Jobs, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is assisting companies as an experienced partner in development cooperation from planning to implementation.

Funding per project: 100,000 euro to 2 million euro public contribution (max. 50% of total cost).

Alliance for Product Quality in Africa

Focus: Consulting with a key emphasis on quality infrastructure

In the Alliance for Product Quality in Africa, institutions with expertise in quality infrastructure work together with companies active in Africa to improve the quality of locally produced products, so that they can be exported internationally. We follow a co-creation approach: Together we identify concrete challenges and develop tailor-made solutions.

The aim is to establish a network for product quality and to strengthen the capacity of companies to comply with qualitative and legal requirements in order to facilitate access to international sales markets.

Financial support for your project

The Facility Investing for Employment (IFE) was created by KfW Development Bank. It is part of the Special Initiative "Decent Work for a Just Transition" of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The Facility Investing for Employment provides co-financing grants for investment projects with a high job creation impact.

Private companies as well as public and non-profit organisations can submit investment projects during the Calls for Proposals. The Facility co-finances projects ranging from purely private sector projects to public infrastructure projects. Applicants must provide own financial contributions towards the overall project expenditure in the required proportion.

It is essential that each proposed investment project contributes to sustainable job creation in the private sector and that the jobs give access to social protection systems. Furthermore, projects that contribute to the promotion of women’s employment or to the socially just transition to a climate-friendly economy have a better chance of being selected.
