Meet us at the Zukunftstag Mittelstand

Exhibition stand and panel discussion: Invest for Jobs networks with German SMEs in Berlin

On 13 March, the focus at Station Berlin will be on German SMEs, with topics ranging from digitalisation and the energy transition to new work, mobility and connectivity. Several German federal ministers will also attend the industry event. Invest for Jobs will be represented on an international panel discussion and will provide information about its services for companies, including those offered in Rwanda, Senegal and Tunisia.

With more than 4,000 guests, including four federal ministers and over 50 ambassadors, the Zukunftstag 2023 was one of the most important business events in Germany, according to the organiser. This year, Invest for Jobs is taking this high-profile event again as an opportunity to showcase the Special Initiative's services, particularly for German SMEs, with its own stand. Among those attending will be numerous representatives who have already successfully set up businesses, or are in the process of doing so, in Rwanda, Senegal and Tunisia with the support of Invest for Jobs .

One of them is Christiane Kragh. The founder and CEO of the German company Off-Grid is working with Invest for Jobs in Senegal as part of a task force. The cooperation, which began in 2019, has resulted in several German SMEs joining together to establish a sustainable industrial cluster in Diourbel, Senegal - including a training and production centre for metal construction, motor vehicles and renewable energy.

Invest for Jobs and the Agency for Business and Economic Development (AWE) support the companies with tailor-made business trips, market analyses, networking with local stakeholders and much more. The successful model has now been extended to Tunisia and Rwanda. At the panel talk on ‘Future markets: How can German SMEs advance sustainable investments in the global South?’, Kragh will discuss with Ivan Magalhães do Prado, Secretary of State of the Angolan Ministry of Industry and Trade, among others.

At our exhibition stand, we will provide information on Invest for Jobs’ services and talk with entrepreneurs, like the participants in the Ukraine-Africa matchmaking event organised the day before by Invest for Jobs and the German Outsourcing Association. Business delegations from Ukraine and several African partner countries of the Special Initiative will meet there to explore potential cooperation. The Zukunftstag will be an opportunity to network and build bridges across continents. Be part of it and visit us in hall 3, stand number 40!
