Tunisian start-ups at the Hannover Messe

Invest for Jobs promotes ten innovative start-ups from Tunisia at the world's largest industrial trade fair

With the support of Invest for Jobs, ten Tunisian start-ups presented themselves at Hannover Messe 2025 from 31 March to 4 April with the aim of positioning Tunisia as a place for innovation and a partner for research and development - with benefits for both sides.

IoT, artificial intelligence, automation, robotics and cyber security - ten Tunisian start-ups from these key areas presented their innovative solutions in the Tunisian pavilion at Hannover Messe 2025.

The Tunisian pavilion was opened by the Tunisian Minister of Industry, Fatma Thabet, together with the Tunisian Ambassador to Germany, Wacef Chiha. Together, they visited the exhibition areas of the ten selected start-ups and then discussed cooperation opportunities with leading companies such as Bosch and Siemens.

Dr Andreas Reinicke, former German ambassador to Tunisia, also emphasised the growing importance of Tunisia as an industrial location for German companies. Invest for Jobs is actively supporting this change, thereby strengthening Tunisia as a partner and creating good jobs.

Tunisia has been closely involved in German supply chains for decades, particularly in the textile and automotive industries. Many German companies are currently expanding their production in the country and are increasingly investing in local research and development. The North African country is geographically close, offers excellently trained specialists - particularly in engineering and IT -, and has a dynamic start-up ecosystem. This actively supports the existing industry in the digital transformation to Industry 4.0, also known as the ‘fourth industrial revolution’. The latter stands for the technological advancement towards the networking and digitalisation of products, processes and services.

These favourable framework conditions are having an impact: according to the latest data from Germany Trade and Invest, foreign direct investment in Tunisia rose by 20 per cent in 2024.
