New funding opportunities in Morocco

Information Session on the currently running Calls for Proposals launched by Invest for Jobs

On May 16, 2024, an information session was held in Casablanca, Morocco, focusing on two new project calls launched by Invest for Jobs. Both aim at supporting sustainable employment and access to social protection.

To promote quality employment and social protection in Morocco, Invest for Jobs organised an information session on two new project calls that are currently open for proposals. The first call is implemented by the Facility Investing for Employment (IFE) and is their 2nd Call for Proposals in Morocco. The other call, the "Challenge Fund 2024", is implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH within the framework of Invest for Jobs.

Attended by representatives from the German Embassy in Rabat, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, and KfW Development Bank, this meeting brought together over 100 Moroccan businesses and institutions. It provided an opportunity to present the objectives, eligibility criteria, and selection criteria for both project calls to the potential participants. An interactive session at the end allowed for addressing their questions and deepening the discussions.

The Call for Proposals by IFE involves a co-financing mechanism, providing grants to public or private projects that create sustainable jobs in the private sector, granting access to the social security system.

The "Challenge Fund 2024" in Morocco offers financial support to projects integrating environmental sustainability measures, promoting women's employment, and/or incorporating digitalisation measures.
